Individuals or groups wishing to operate as corporations in Prince Edward Island are required under the Prince Edward Island Companies Act to file the appropriate forms with the Prince Edward Island Consumer, Corporate and Insurance Division.

Before you begin your Prince Edward Island company incorporation online there are a few things that you are going to need to know and/or have access to.

Forming a Prince Edward Island company involves three main steps:

Step 1 Name Approval

All business entities require approval of proposed name prior to company registration in Prince Edward Island. Prince Edward Island Consumer, Corporate and Insurance Division is responsible for the approval of company names.

If the name of the company is to be its incorporation number, for example 123456 P.E. Ltd; a Prince Edward Island name search report, is not required and the number will be assigned at the time of incorporation.
